In this project, you work in Scratch to make your own Internet of Things (IoT) monitor, which means you use a sensor to measure something and send the information somewhere else. Follow the directions for this project exactly to make a gadget for measuring the temperature of ice pops as they cool down in the freezer. Or make a different type of thermometer, one that measures something else. What about a thermometer for measuring when it’s hot enough outside to go for a swim, or using your gadget for a science experiment? You can read the temperature of wherever the micro:bit is located and, optionally, send the value to your smartphone by using a Bluetooth connection (a wireless connection between devices). For instructions, see the online guide at www.dummies.com/gettingstartedwithcoding
. You choose what project you want to build.
