Ballet Fundamentals – This course introduces students to the art and discipline of ballet, covering essential foundations, terminology, and techniques. Students will explore ballet history, tools of the trade, warm-up routines, and the fundamentals of movement, posture, and musicality. Instruction will progress from basic barre exercises to center floor work, linking steps, and introductory turns such as the pirouette. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, flexibility, and coordination to build a strong technical base. By the end of the semester, students will have the skills to perform basic ballet combinations and the knowledge to appreciate ballet as both a technical discipline and a performing art.
