First-Year Teaching – This course introduces students to the teaching profession by exploring the realities, challenges, and rewards of working in education. Students will examine common myths about teachers, learn the essential responsibilities of educators, and develop awareness of classroom culture. Topics will include lesson planning, classroom management, and strategies for building a safe and inclusive environment. Learners will also explore how to navigate the early days of a teaching career and adapt to different school contexts. By the end of the semester, students will have a foundational understanding of what it takes to become an effective and resilient teacher.
